About

The challenge: A group of 20+ complete beginners of all ages, mostly young adults, learning professional design software from zero, in English as a shared second language. Formal design training is expensive and hard to access in North Macedonia, so for many of them this was a first real hands-on route into the tools. The task was making four intimidating Adobe programs approachable and getting people making actual work, not just following along. What I did: Designed and delivered the course from scratch: a hands-on, multi-day programme across Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Premiere Pro. Took beginners through the fundamentals of brand identity, illustration and video editing, taught entirely in English to a mixed group, with everyone producing their own work along the way. The outcome: The clearest sign it worked: students kept coming back to new sessions with no obligation to, they returned because they wanted to keep going. For a group with little prior access to professional design training, the course turned four unfamiliar tools into skills they could actually use.
